Considered the most beautiful Buddhist temple of the Silla Dynasty, Bulguksa Temple
focuses on a simple yet harmonious design aesthetic. At the entrance stands Dabotap Pagoda, one of the most well-recognized artifacts of Korean history. The pagoda even appears on the face of the 10won coin. As its unique construction is based on scientific principles, its construction method proved effective enough to ensure the temple survived a recent earthquake in Gyeongju. Dubbed the highlight of trip to Gyeongju, Bulguksa Temple is surrounded by blooming flowers in the spring, and blessed with falling red maple leaves in the autumn.
